5 things you should not miss in Rio

Rio de Janeiro: It’s much more than just a beautiful city.

The landscape of Rio de Janeiro is a mix of natural beauty, historical monuments and plenty of different culture, and is able to entertain tourists for weeks. The city is mainly known for its beaches, which are seen in almost all of the postcards of the city. Fair enough: places like the beaches in Ipanema, Leblon and Copacabana are still idyllic images amid Rio’s urban setting and are mandatory for anyone visiting Rio.

But the city has much more to offer: between the sea and the imposing mountains that surround it, the city is home to world-class museums, charming neighborhoods, ecotourism tours, fine dining, samba courts, quiet parks and plenty of places to party. Lapa, for example, revitalized in recent years, hosts a multitude of things to do at night: are bars with the most different profiles and able to please all musical tastes. Santa Teresa, enchants tourists with its steep streets, old houses and beautiful landscapes. And not to mention the commercial center of town, full of fascinating historical secrets.
